This booklet contains expressions with multiple operations on more than two integer numbers from -20 up to 20.
By convention in mathematics, multiplication and division precedes addition and subtraction. Brackets or parentheses are used to set precedence by grouping parts of an expression. Such order of operations is often referred to as PEMDAS (Parentheses, Exponents (Powers and Roots), Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction) in the United States, BEDMAS (Brackets, Exponents (Powers and Roots), Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction) in Canada and New Zealand and BODMAS (where O means Order) in the UK and Australia. Other acronyms also include BIDMAS and BOMDAS.
Step 1: Operations inside brackets have priority, and should be completed first;
Step 2: Exponents and roots come second;
Step 3: Start from the left and perform all multiplications and divisions;
Step 4: Perform all additions and subtractions.
Don't forget that 2+2×2=6. The booklet ends with a number of tests to give each child a chance to achieve their highest score. Students are motivated with a certificate of completion found on the last page of this booklet. The solutions to all the problems are given. This booklet may be printed, downloaded or saved and used at home or classroom.
